Economic Opportunity

This budget supports initiatives that will help transform Cleveland into a national model for economic revival. Key highlights are:

  • Support for Home for Every Neighbor program, which has permanently housed nearly 200 residents.

  • Parks and Recreation improvements which will connect residents to each other and create more vibrant public spaces

  • Expanded youth programs that keep young residents engaged and encouraged

  • Reinvestment in historically underfunded neighborhoods to address blight and deterioration as well as increase housing options

  • Support to the Site Readiness to attract new business to Cleveland, unlocking underutilized land to spur job creation

Investing in Public Safety

This year's investment in the City's public safety divisions furthers the mayor's Raising Investment in Safety for Everyone (RISE) initiative. Since its launch, RISE helped reduce homicides by 37%, reduced robberies by 20% and increased police recruitment and retention.

Modernizing City Hall

This budget funds a number of new and existing modernization efforts to city services. These include real-time tracking of service requests sent to the 3-1-1 call center, a modernized permitting and licensing system, an ever-expanding Open Data Portal which provides free public access to city-wide analytics, a new vendor self service portal for payment, updated budgeting software, and electronic contract signature and lifecycle management.
